About our Sports Announcer Mentions Tool

Our Sports Announcer Mentions Tool tracks historical mention rates for strikes that Kalshi offers for NFL, NCAAF, NBA, NCAAB, NHL, EPL, UFC, and more.

The tool helps you get an edge on Kalshi's "what will the announcers say" markets by giving you insight into historical mention rates and trends alongside live Kalshi pricing.

Understanding the data

The top of the tool shows the strikes that Kalshi offers, which are the words/phrases you can trade, as well as the historical hit rate for each.

Below that, you can see past games that Kalshi offered markets on and the results for each strike.

A green check mark means the strike went Yes, while a red X means it went No. A gray slashed circle means the strike wasn't offered for that game.

Filters

There are four filters to help you analyze the data, including:

League

Switch between NFL, NBA, MLB, and more.

Min Previous Markets

Hide strikes with too little market history.

Announcers

Filter to games called by a specific crew.

Teams

Show data only for specific team(s).

Tips for using our sports mentions tool

Here are some tips to win more using our tool:

  • Use the filters, especially the announcer one. Mention rate varies significantly based on who is calling the game and which teams are playing. Some announcers regularly say the words/phrases Kalshi offers markets on, while others never say them. Similarly, certain strikes are more/less likely to be said based on the teams playing, such as "injury" being mentioned when teams are facing a lot of injuries.
  • Supplement with research. The tool gives a good baseline to find value, but we always recommend doing a bit of additional research to determine if you truly found value. For example, if you're trading "comeback," you could check to see if either of the teams had a big comeback win last week.
  • Consider general league news and trends. If there was a blockbuster trade within days of a game starting, it may be brought up by the announcers even if the teams playing weren't involved in the trade. Keeping a general pulse of league news and trends helps you spot potential mentions that others aren't.
  • Use limit orders. Limit orders are great if the game isn't starting for a few hours or days because they help you get a better price (assuming it gets filled) and you pay less in fees. We generally recommend placing limit orders towards the highest Bid price to increase the chances it gets filled.
  • Set NO limit orders to expire when the game starts. Whenever placing a limit order for NO, we recommend setting it to expire when the event starts. That way, if a strike is mentioned during the game, you won't immediately be filled and lose.
